Our journey started with the humble Horse and Cart……

…that was in 1896. We’ve come a very long way since then, now offering secure storage facilities and lifting services in addition to general road haulage. The foundations of our business and core beliefs remain the same as those established by W J Hunt over 125 years ago and counting.

Our Services

Here at L. Hunt & Sons, we aim to combine traditional values with a modern service. Our staff turnover is low and our retention high – we believe in employing the right people for the job, who share our values. They become part of the family and always go the extra mile for our customers! We’ve worked with many of our customers for over 10 years (and some for almost 40 years) so we get to know them and their requirements very well.

We invest in both our equipment and our people, ensuring our trucks and trailers are regularly updated and our staff undergo thorough periodic training and can develop their skills. A focus like this, honed for over 125 years, means we truly have movement off to a fine art.

How low can we go? Very!

Low loader & specialist transport

We have long been recognised as specialists in low loader road haulage with particular experience in Forklift transport and the specific challenges that encounters.

A combination of our years of experience and our significant investment in our low loader equipment makes us a market leader in forklift transport and unusual movements. We have three custom built Andover semi low loaders and have put the fleet to use on a huge range of transports including trees, shepherd’s huts, helicopters, plant and machinery and abnormal loads. Partnering this with our lifting equipment, we are able to meet the most demanding of challenges.
